Solve Your City Privacy Policy
Effective August 26, 2026
Solve Your City LLC operates Solve Your City in the United States. This Privacy Policy explains how Solve Your City LLC ("Solve Your City," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and retains personal information.
We may collect account information such as email address, real name, player nickname, authentication identifiers, birth date, guardian-permission confirmation, residence eligibility region (United States or Outside the United States), signup and login timestamps, and password-reset activity. Guest players receive an anonymous authentication identity and temporary nickname without providing a name, email address, password, or birth date through the guest flow. Before a guest session starts, we record the versioned legal documents accepted and an age-and-authority attestation tied to that anonymous identity and timestamp.
If you explicitly opt in to Solve Your City marketing, we collect your email address, consent scope and version, signup source, consent timestamp, U.S.-adult eligibility basis, current preference, and email-provider synchronization status. Marketing is available only to people who confirm they are at least 18 and live in the United States. The control starts unchecked, and creating an account or purchasing an adventure does not subscribe you. Offer and adventure-alert forms join the general Solve Your City marketing list and also retain the specific campaign, city, adventure, placement, or discount interest described on the form. We use this information to send occasional emails about new adventures, city launches, and special offers; administer requested offers; prevent duplicate use; and honor unsubscribes. We use Resend to deliver these messages and process Topic opt-outs, global unsubscribes, complaints, bounces, and suppressions. An unsubscribe from the shared Solve Your City marketing Topic stops all marketing audiences, and we do not automatically restart a suppressed address. Password resets, receipts, purchase fulfillment, and other requested service messages are transactional and remain separate from marketing consent.
For the First Adventure Offer, we also retain coupon issuance and redemption status. Coupon codes are encrypted for recoverable email delivery and indexed using a one-way keyed digest. We use this information to administer the 25% offer, prevent duplicate use, and support refunds.
We collect information directly from you, automatically from your device or browser when you use the service, from your activity while creating, joining, purchasing, or playing an adventure, and from an organizer or teammate when that person creates a group or team session involving you.
When you create, join, purchase, or play an adventure, we may store the selected adventure, group-size selection, private group or team session, play-link access, participant identity, nickname, progress, discoveries, verification results, nearby distance, timestamps, policy acceptance, transaction records, and support or reliability events.
If a signed-in player chooses to submit a review after completing an adventure, we store the rating, review text, completion record used to verify eligibility, publication consent, moderation status, and the first name derived from the account profile. We use the first name, rating, and review text in public marketing only after the player has consented and a moderator has approved the review. A player may withdraw an approved review through the service; we retain an internal withdrawal record as needed to honor that choice and operate the service.
With device permission, precise location is used to show your position, help you reach the Starting Area, verify suspected clue locations, and confirm nearby discoveries. When you request an in-app walking route, your origin and the Starting Area are sent to our mapping provider to calculate that route. GPS samples are sent to the service for verification. Gameplay records retain verification results, nearby distance, the relevant clue or location identifier, and timestamps rather than a history of the raw GPS samples. Finder Mode may store placement information, including coordinates, in local browser storage on the device until that browser data is cleared. GPS, compass, map, camera, and Finder Mode data may be imprecise.
Camera access is requested only when a camera-based Finder Mode is opened so digital objects can appear in a live view. The application does not offer a feature that records, saves, or uploads photos or videos merely because Finder Mode is open. Camera frames and technical augmented-reality signals may be processed by software that enables the live experience.
We use first-party analytics and reliability events to understand whether an adventure was viewed, started, resumed, or completed; whether Finder Mode worked; and the general type of device, browser, and operating system used. These records may include an account or guest identifier, a pseudonymous browser identifier, adventure and session identifiers, event timestamps, and limited technical metadata.
Optional technologies are off until you make a choice. The Your Privacy Choices link in our public-site footer lets you accept, reject, or customize optional technologies by category and change that choice later. To keep map controls clear while an adventure is in progress, that control is not displayed over active gameplay after a current choice is saved. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to keep both optional categories off while the signal is active. We store your versioned choice in local storage in that browser. When we add a provider or purpose, we will update this Policy and ask for a new choice before that provider can load.
If you allow Analytics & experience improvement, we may use Google Analytics and FullStory to measure pages and general use, diagnose usability and technical issues, and improve the service. These providers may process online identifiers, cookie or similar-technology identifiers, IP-address-derived general location, browser and device information, page and interaction data, and—for FullStory—session-replay data from content that is not excluded. They may run on public marketing, checkout, account, player, and Battle Field play routes, but not on staff, admin, studio, dashboard, sign-in, sign-up, or password-reset surfaces. We do not use FullStory to identify you or send it account attributes. We use FullStory Form Privacy and code-level exclusions for credential, payment, account or profile, private-link or session, GPS or map, camera or Finder Mode, and order-detail content.
If you allow Advertising & measurement, we use Meta Pixel on public marketing pages only to measure visits from Meta ads, marketing-page and product-detail views, and requests to begin checkout, and to improve or measure future advertising. Meta may collect online identifiers, cookie or similar-technology identifiers, IP-address-derived general location, browser and device information, and those limited marketing events. Meta Pixel is not used on checkout, account, private play-link, player, gameplay, or other private URLs. We do not use Meta Automatic Advanced Matching and do not send precise location, camera data, account email, payment data, private play links, or private session identifiers to Meta for advertising. Meta may use cookies or similar technologies for these advertising and measurement purposes; information about Meta's choices and opt-out controls is available through Meta's privacy controls.
The service uses browser storage and similar technologies, including local storage, session storage, and cookies, for authentication, guest identity, progress and purchase access, puzzle drafts, reliability, and Finder Mode placement. The optional providers named above use cookies or similar technologies only after the applicable category is allowed. Operational service providers may also use cookies when needed to deliver their services. Clearing browser data can remove access or progress from that device, but it does not necessarily delete server-side records.
We use personal information to provide accounts and guest access, recover adventures, isolate private groups and teams, save progress, verify locations, operate Finder Mode, prevent unauthorized access and fraud, improve reliability, enforce safety rules, provide support, process transactions, and comply with legal obligations.
For paid adventures, card and billing details are submitted directly to Stripe. Solve Your City LLC does not receive or store full payment-card numbers or card security codes. We retain the confirmed account email, purchased adventure and group size, authoritative price and discount records, Stripe customer, checkout, payment, refund, and dispute identifiers, transaction status and date, and resulting access or revocation status.
We disclose information to service providers that perform account authentication, data storage, hosting, maps, augmented-reality functionality, payment processing, email delivery, support, security, and other operational services on our behalf. We may also disclose information when required by law; to protect a person's rights, safety, or property; to investigate fraud or abuse; or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of the business.
We retain account, profile, agreement, and gameplay information while an account remains active and until a verified deletion request is completed, subject to legal and operational exceptions. Marketing consent, campaign-interest, and opt-out records are retained while messages or requested offers remain active and afterward only as reasonably needed to honor opt-outs, prevent abuse, satisfy legal obligations, or complete backup retention cycles. Guest identities and gameplay records are retained while needed to provide or recover an adventure, maintain purchased access, protect the service, or respond to a verified request. Transaction, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute, safety, and legal records may be retained for the period reasonably required for those purposes. Support, analytics, reliability, and security records are retained only while reasonably needed for those functions, and backups remain until overwritten under the applicable backup cycle. Deleting browser data does not by itself delete server-side information.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of certain personal information; to appeal a denied request; or to opt out of certain processing. You can allow, reject, or later change optional technologies using the Your Privacy Choices link in our public-site footer. Rejecting a category prevents its provider from loading in that browser going forward; browser controls may be needed to remove a technology previously set by a provider. We may need to verify other requests and may retain information where applicable law permits or requires it. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right. Registered users can correct certain account details in their account settings. To submit any other privacy request, including a request about guest play, use the privacy contact method provided on the website and include enough information for us to identify the relevant account, purchase, browser identity, or adventure session without sending a password or full payment-card number.
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Only a person 13 or older may create an account or independently operate a guest session. A child under 13 may participate only while a parent, legal guardian, or another responsible adult authorized by the parent or guardian is present, operates the account and phone, controls device permissions, and manages the child's safety. The adult—not the child—must be the service user and must not submit the child's personal information. Participants who are 13 through 17 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to participate, including when participating without a parent, guardian, or responsible adult physically present. If we learn that personal information was collected directly from a child under 13 contrary to these rules or without legally required authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Do not create, join, or play if you do not want Solve Your City to process the account or guest identity, adventure and session records, location, camera permissions, device information, and gameplay history required for the service. We will post an updated Privacy Policy with a new effective date. For material changes, we may also provide a prominent website notice, email registered account holders, or require renewed acceptance before continued use, as appropriate.
